Mrs. Sylvia Borders 88, a resident of Trenton, Missouri died at 7:39 P.M., Tuesday, October 26, 2021 at Livingston Manor, Chillicothe, Missouri.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, October 30, 2021 at the River of Life Pentecostal Church, Trenton. Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Gardens north of Trenton.
Family visitation will be held Friday, October 29, 2021 from 6:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at Slater-Neal Funeral Home, Trenton.
Memorials to either The Food Pantry or Salvation Army and maybe left with the funeral home.
Mrs. Borders was born July 22, 1933 in St. Louis, Missouri the daughter of Arthur Marion and Florence Hodgeson Bradley. She attended Hancock Elementary School, then graduated from Hancock High School, then graduated from North Central Missouri College and then from Central Missouri State University, Warrensburg, Missouri with a Bachelor’s Degree in special education.
She was a member of the River of Life Pentecostal Church, Trenton, Missouri.
On January 13, 1951 she was married to Norman R. Borders, Sr. at Pocahontas, Arkansas. He preceded her in death on August 11, 2014 .
Her survivors include two daughters Edith Parish, Fredericksburg, Virginia, Cynthia Calivere and husband John, Trenton, Missouri; three sons Norman R. Borders, Jr., Trenton, Missouri, Robert Borders, Trenton, Missouri, Joshua Borders and wife Tiffany, Trenton, Missouri; three sisters Ruth Duncill, St. Clair, Missouri, Betty Auth, Hillsboro, Missouri, Merry Allard, Madisonville, Texas; one brother David Bradley St. Louis, Missouri; several grandchildren, several great grandchildren and several great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son Phillip Borders, one daughter-in-law Kathryn Borders, one granddaughter Heather Wendt, four brothers George Bradley, Homer Bradley, Raymond Bradley and Joseph Bradley.
