Shirley M Todd, an 85 year old Trenton resident passed away at 2:03pm Thursday December 19th at Wright Memorial Hospital surrounded by her family.
Shirley was born on July 20, 1939, in Galt, MO, daughter of Cecil and Helen (Hardin) Williams. She was a 1958 graduate of Galt High School. On August 17, 1958, she was married to Joseph Franklin Todd in Trenton, MO. He proceeded her in death on April 24, 2021.
Shirley retired from Trenton R-9 school district after many years of working as a cook. Shirley and Frank traveled extensively. After retirement, they spent their winters as snowbirds in Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, Mexico. When they weren’t in Mexico, she enjoyed coffee with her friends and was always up for any adventure. Her family was her pride and joy. She never missed an event of her children, grandchildren or great grandchildren.
Shirley was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church in Trenton. She spent many hours volunteering at the Church Women’s United Thrift Store.
Surviving relatives include daughter Diana Chambers. Four grandsons Jeremy (Robin) Chambers, Derrick (Shelby) Todd, Dustin (Adriane) Todd, Matthew (Ashley) Chambers all of Trenton, MO. Her most favorite roll was being Nanny to her 10 great grandchildren, Peyton, Gavin, Bentley, Paige, and Coehn Chambers; Addison, Eli, Ana, Emery and Jesse Todd.
She was preceded in death by her parents, son Randall Todd, daughter-in-law Juanita Todd, grandson Coleman Todd, son-in law Jerry Chambers, two sister’s Barbara Hennigh, Cecilia Allen, and one brother Jerry Williams.
Funeral services will be held Monday, December 23, 2024 at 2:00 P.M. at Resthaven Mortuary, Trenton, Missouri. Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Trenton, Missouri.
Family visitation will be held Sunday, December 22, 2024 from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at the mortuary.
Memorials to either Green Hills Animal Shelter or Church Women United and they may be left with the mortuary.
