Shirley Ann (Vanderpool) Hamilton

Shirley Hamilton, an 83 year old, former Trenton, MO resident, passed away at 2:08 a.m., Wednesday, December 23, 2020 at Lamoni Specialty Care in Lamoni, IA.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 29, 2020 at the First Baptist Church in Trenton.  Burial will follow in the Trenton Cemetery.  Open visitation will be from 8 until 5 Monday at Slater Neal Funeral Home in Trenton.  Memorial donations are suggested to the First Baptist Church and may be left with or mailed to the funeral home.

Shirley Ann Hamilton was born October 26, 1937 in Edinburg, MO to Daniel Thomas and Gladys Millie (Chambers) Vanderpool.  On December 5, 1955 she was united in marriage to Earnest Hamilton in Edinburg.  For many years Shirley owned and operated Hamilton Cleaning service.  She was a member of the First Baptist Church and was a Sunday School Teacher for many years.  She had a deep faith and loved her bible and church.

Surviving relatives include her daughter Angie Cheek and husband Phil of Pattonsburg, MO, sons, Daniel Hamilton of Stevens Point, WI, Kirk Hamilton and wife Laura of Trenton, and Chris Hamilton and wife Brandi of Lathrup, MO, sister Grace Prince and husband Bill of Independence, MO, brother Harold Vanderpool and wife Margie of San Diego, CA, 10 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Earnest, and four siblings, Brona Mendenhall, Bonnie Berry, Johnnie Vanderpool, and a stillborn.
