Mrs. Ruth Jean Stewart, 88, a resident of Trenton, Missouri died at 3:15 P.M., Monday, January 8, 2024 at the Sunnyview Nursing Home, Trenton, Missouri.
Funeral services will be held Friday, January 12, 2024 at 2:00 P.M. at the Church Of The Nazarene, Trenton, Missouri. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Trenton, Missouri.
Family visitation will be held Friday from 1:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. at the church.
Memorials to the Church Of The Nazarene and may be left with Slater-Neal Funeral Home, Trenton, Missouri.
Mrs. Stewart was born April 12, 1935 in Trenton, Missouri the daughter of James Edward and Della Ethel Whitworth. Ruth didn’t know music and played the piano by ear, she felt it was a gift from God and wouldn’t feel right not to share with others. She loved to cook, when knowing her family would be home and (remembering all the pies). Ruth felt so much love for her family.
She was a member of the Church of the Nazarene of Trenton, Missouri.
On May 29, 1951 she was married to John H. Stewart in Trenton by the Rev. J. Parker-Craig at the Nazarene parsonage. He preceded her in death on August 21, 2002.
Her survivors include two daughters Linda Dailing and husband Bob, Shawnee, Kansas, Julie Helton, Trenton, Missouri; one son Charles Stewart, Trenton, Missouri; five grandchildren Sarah Gene Napier, Jennifer Kover, Angela Dailing, Tim Helton, Jonathan Helton and six great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
