Ronny was born July 6, 1938 at Laredo, MO to Earnest and Catherine Shaul Swank. Ronny attended rural elementary school and graduated from Trenton High School in 1956.
Ronny married Louise Crawford and they were the parents of Randy & Rhonda.
His membership in FFA was the beginning of a long career in agriculture. He bought his first farm in 1968. In 1971, he bought the family farm from his mother and resided there until 1987.
Ronny married Helen Gibson in 1987 and they farmed together in the Brimson area.
In 2008, they started spending winters in South Texas. Not a fan of winter, he looked forward to the trip South every year where he played shuffle board in the sun with his friends in their community. He spent every day winning competitions on the court. Due to Ronny’s deteriorating health, they sold their home in Texas in 2023. That same year, they sold their home at Brimson and moved to Trenton.
Ronny served as trustee for both Madison and Taylor Townships and operated the road grader in Taylor Township. He also served on the People’s Coop board for many years. He was passionate about maintaining and improving what he had. He loved working with large machinery and constantly enhancing the fields, roads, and equipment he used every day.
Ronny was raised in the Baptist faith and attended church regularly.
He is survived by his wife Helen; daughter Rhonda Chaverri; daughter-in-law ReNea Brown; grandsons Justin (Stephanie) and Brandon Swank; great granddaughter Lillian Swank; great grandson Logan Wilson; three sisters: Earnestine Shull, Beverly Wynne, and Sandra White.
