Roberta May Allen McCulley
February 16, 1934 – September 6, 2025
Roberta May (Allen) McCulley, age 91, passed peacefully at her home in Trenton, Missouri, on September 6, 2025. She was born on February 16, 1934, near Trenton MO to Homer and Dorothy Allen, and from her earliest days, she carried the quiet strength and grace that would define her life.
On October 22, 1952, Roberta married Lloyd B. McCulley, beginning a love story that spanned more than seven decades. Together they built a home rooted in faith, resilience, and devotion—a legacy that continues in the lives of their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Roberta is survived by her beloved husband Lloyd of the home; her sister Beatrice McGuire of Trenton; her son Darrell (Cara) McCulley of Trenton; her daughter Rosetta (Doug) Marsh of Trenton; and her daughter-in-law Sonya McCulley of Trenton. She was a proud grandmother to Beth (Kenny) Chase of Rolla, MO, Jonathan (Betsy) McCulley of Maysville, MO, Chase (Abygale) Marsh of Platte City, MO and Serenity Marsh of Trenton. Her great-grandchildren—Alex Chase, Axel McCulley, and Desiree Ledbetter—brought her endless joy.
She was preceded in death by two sons, Lloyd Daniel and Joel Martin McCulley; one grandson, Joshua Ben McCulley; her parents, Homer and Dorothy Allen; and four brothers- Hubert, Harrold, Dale and Micheal Allen.
Roberta’s life was a testament to grace in the everyday—whether through her gentle wisdom, her unwavering love for her family, or the quiet faith that carried her through seasons of joy and sorrow. She will be remembered for the way she made others feel seen, heard, and deeply loved.
A celebration of Roberta’s life will be held at the Church of the Nazarene in Trenton MO on Wednesday, September 10th at 10:30 am; graveside services following at Edinburg IOOF Cemetery.
