Rita Marie Hamilton

Rita Marie Hamilton, age 61, a resident of Spickard, Missouri passed away on Tuesday, July 15, 2025 at University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City, Kansas.

Funeral Services/Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, July 21, 2025 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Trenton, Missouri.   The Rosary will be held Sunday, July 20, 2025 at 6:00 P.M. in the Parish Hall of the church followed by family visitation also in the Parish Hall from 6:30 P.M. t0 7:30 P.M.

Memorials to help with final expenses and may be left with the funeral home.

Arrangements are by Slater-Neal Funeral Home, Trenton, Missouri.

Rita was born April 24, 1964 in Trenton, Missouri, the daughter of William Allen and Eleanor Marie Knutson Hamilton. She graduated from Tri-County High School in Jamesport, Missouri. Rita was an artist and loved the work she did as a foster care advocate. 

Her survivors include her fiancé David Cunningham, Spickard, Missouri; five sisters Anna Brill and husband Charles, Savannah, Missouri; Rose Bingham and husband Jim, Galt, Missouri; Monica Beck and husband Robert, Trenton, Missouri; Ellen Burton and husband Everett, Sugar Land, Texas; Maria Anim-Kwapong and husband Joseph, Missouri City, Texas; four brothers Michael Hamilton and wife Delia, Corpus Christi, Texas; Joseph Hamilton and wife Sandy, Gilman City, Missouri; John Hamilton, Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin; James Hamilton and wife Bernita, Las Vegas, Nevada; one brother-in-law Glen Brill, Trenton, Missouri; and several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister Mary Brill.  

Rita loved her family and friends dearly and was loved by all who knew her.  She will be remembered for her kind heart, beautiful smile and willingness to help others.
