Raymond Lee McAtee

Raymond Lee McAtee, a 62 year old Independence, MO resident, passed away at 5:18 p.m., Thursday, January 1, 2026 at North Kansas City Hospital.

A Celebration of Life is scheduled from 1:00 p.m., until 2:30 p.m., Wednesday, January 7, 2025 at Slater Neal Funeral Home of Trenton.  Memorial donations are suggested to the funeral expenses and may be left or mailed to the funeral home.

Raymond Lee McAtee was born September 11, 1963 in Trenton, MO to Darrel and Carol (Meservey) McAtee.  He graduated from Trenton High School with the class of 1981.  Raymond worked as a tow truck driver for many years and later as an over-the-road truck driver.  He loved drinking coffee and watching the Chiefs.

Surviving relatives include his daughter Samantha Fischer and husband Matthew of Wentzville, MO, mother Carol Norris of Trenton, sister Tiffany Hutchison and husband Charles of Trenton, brother Randall McAtee of Independence, step mother Gertie McAtee of St. Joseph, MO, and step son Tony Ferreira and wife Tabatha of Blue Springs, MO, and six grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his father Darrel, and step father Denny Norris.
