Peggy Sue Sims, a 74 year old Trenton resident, passed away at 2:24 p.m., Thursday, July 16, 2020 at Sunnyview Nursing home in Trenton.
She is to be cremated under the direction of Slater Neal Funeral Home of Trenton. Memorial donations may be made to either Wright Memorial Hospice or Church Women United and left with or mailed to the funeral home.
Peggy Sue Sims was born October 30, 1945 in Grundy County to Kenneth and Lois (Pettit) Axtell. She graduated from Galt High School. On January 19, 1964 she was united in marriage to Kenneth Sims at the Fairview Methodist Church. She retired from Modine Manufacturing after 20 years. Peggy was well known for making Red Cake and noodles.
Surviving relatives include sons Michael Sims and wife Karen of Trenton, and Mark Sims of Jefferson City, MO, daughter in law Melissa Sims of Trenton, brothers Bob Axtell and wife Patty of Trenton, Jim Axtell of Emma, MO, and Bill Axtell and wife Mary of Trenton, six grandchildren Mandy Betz and husband Skylar, Tiffany Herrold and husband Seth, Krystal Sims, Julia Sims, Casey Feigly and husband Brady, and Zachary Scott and wife Cynthia, and six great grandchildren; Cash, Makenzie, Alexander, Fallon, Weylen, and Selene.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a son Steve Sims, and brothers Charles and Jack Axtell
