Opal G. (Persell) Swopes

Mrs. Opal G. Swopes, 97, a resident of Trenton, Missouri died at 5:30 A.M., Wednesday, November 13, 2024 at Sunnyview Nursing Home, Trenton, Missouri.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M., Monday, November 18, 2024 at Resthaven Mortuary, Trenton, Missouri. Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Trenton, Missouri.

Family visitation will be held Monday, November 18, 2024 from 1:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. at the mortuary.

Memorials to Family and Friends of the Developmentally Disabled for Recreational Activities and may be left with the mortuary.

Mrs. Swopes was born September 1, 1927 at Galt, Missouri the daughter of Bert and Clara Stottlemyre Persell. She Graduated from Galt High School and was retired from Sunnyview Nursing Home.

On September 22, 1945 she was married to Donald Swopes. He preceded her death in 1994.

Her survivors include one daughter Zora Dupre, Trenton, Missouri; two sons James Bert Swopes and wife Lynda, Gilman City, Missouri, Bill Swopes, Trenton, Missouri; one sister Lola Jo Wise, Carrollton, Missouri; three grandchildren Jim Stiner, Terressa Stiner, Tammy Taylor; four great grandchildren, nine great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three sisters Olive Sheppard, Kay Reid, Becky Sparks and one brother Jerry Conners.
