Myrtle Cleo (Smith) Boram passed away in Westview Acres Care Center in Leon, IA on April 27, 2021 at the age of 91 years, 6 weeks and 5 days.
Open visitation is scheduled for Monday, May 3, 2021 at the Slater Neal Funeral Home in Trenton, MO. from 9:00 a.m. to 6 p.m. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday, May 4, 2021 at the Humphreys Cemetery in Humphreys, MO.
Myrtle Cleo (Smith) Boram was born March 11, 1930 to William Ellsworth Smith and Elma Marie (Taylor) Smith, in the town of Lindley, MO.
Myrtle graduated from Humphreys High School in 1947, and then married Ralph Okey Boram. To this union three children were born: Ronald Leon, Brenda Carol, and Linda Cheryl. They were married 48 years and 5 months. Ralph preceded Myrtle in death in October of 1995.
Myrtle was a loving care giver to her mother-n-law, Maggie Boram, Father-in-law, Okey Boram, her own mother and father, and several of her brothers and sisters during their final illnesses.
Myrtle loved gardening, canning and cooking. Myrtle took great pride in her cinnamon rolls and light glazed doughnuts. At one time she baked luscious cream and fruit pies for a Chillicothe, Missouri restaurant. She loved blackberry picking as well sewing and rummage sales.
Everyone who knew Myrtle could attest to her great sense of humor.
Myrtle began to study the Bible with Jehovah’s Witnesses, and was baptized in 1957. She has been a faithful witness for Jehovah and his son Jesus Christ ever since. She took her beliefs very seriously and strived to live her life in accordance with them.
Those who survived Myrtle were her daughters; Brenda and husband, James Griffin, of Leon, IA, and Linda McLaughlin of Chillicothe, MO., sister, Ellen Couch of Milan, MO., sister-n-laws, Ramah Smith and Beth Smith. Six grandchildren; Rodney Boram of Humphreys, MO.; Angelia Stewart and husband, Mark, of Corydon, IA; Amanda (Suazo) Schreiber and husband, Ryan of Des Moines, IA; Amber Suazo and husband, Marco of Leon, IA; Coleen Quinn of Kansas City, MO.; Jonathan McLaughlin, of Casa Grande, AZ; twelve great grandchildren: Maddie Boram of Denver, CO; Laticia Velez and husband, Nick of Grant City, MO; Caleb Stewart, of Corydon, IA; James, Edwin, and Joel Suazo of Des Moines, IA; Julisa and Jadira Suazo of Leon, IA; Savana Wheeler and husband, Kyle of Kansas City, MO., Rachel Quinn of Kansas City, MO.; Caitlyn and Timothy McLaughlin, of Casa Grande, AZ.; one Great great grandchild: Nicholas Quinn, of Kansas City, MO.
Those who preceded her in death were her husband, Ralph; her son, Ronald in April of 1970. Sisters; Edith, Lela Downen, Mae McNanna, Ila Parrish, and Betty Nida, brothers; Marvin, Byron, Archie, Keith, Murl and Gerald Smith.
Myrtle will be laid to rest beside her husband, Ralph, and son Ronald in the Humphreys Cemetery in Humphreys, Mo.
