Mildred Louise (Stewart) Johnson

Mildred Louise (Stewart) Johnson, a 91 year old Trenton, MO resident, passed away Thursday, May 22, 2025 at Davies County Nursing and Rehab.

Louise was born February 6, 1934 in Mercer County to Hadley and Mildred (Arnote) Stewart.  She graduated from Princeton High School before attending Trenton Junior College and State Teachers’ College in Kirksville.  She taught elementary school at R-3 in rural Grundy County before moving to the state of Illinois and teaching.  Upon returning to Missouri, she taught in the Excelsior Springs School District and then in the Trenton R-9 School District for a career that spanned over 45 years.  She married Kenneth Johnson on February 17, 1977.  He preceded her in death on March 10, 1988.

Surviving relatives include her brother-in-law Everett Cunningham, 2 nieces and their families, and 5 step children and their families.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and her sister Ann Cunningham.

Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00a.m., Thursday, May 29, 2025 at Resthaven Mortuary of Trenton.  A private burial will be held at a later time at Wild Cemetery.  Memorial donations are suggested to Wild Cemetery and may be left with or mailed to the funeral home.
