Michael Allen Worrell Sr., born on August 15, 1956, in San Diego, California, passed away peacefully on December 27, 2024, at 12:33 p.m. at St. Luke’s Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri. He was 68 years old.
Michael was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. On February 15, 1992, he married the love of his life, Arlena Worrell, at the Methodist Church in Chillicothe, Missouri. Together, they built a life full of love and adventure, splitting their time between Missouri and California, before settling in Trenton, Missouri.
Michael is survived by his beloved wife, Arlena, and her two children, Nathan King (Amanda King) of Gallatin, Missouri, and Jeromey King (Amanda Hull) of Ottumwa, Iowa, along with their 4 grandchildren.
He is also survived by his three children, Michael Worrell Jr., Christopher Worrell, and Charlene Worrell, all of El Cajon, California, 13 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren..
Michael’s father, Charles Worrell of El Cajon, California, survives him, as do his three sisters: Donna Cioffi of El Cajon, California; Darlene Montijo of Santee, California; and Diane Tkachuk of Tehachapi, California. He was preceded in death by his mother, June Worrell, who passed on January 25, 2023.
Michael had a deep passion for life and the great outdoors. He was a dedicated ]semi-truck driver for over 20 years, taking pride in his work and the many miles he traveled across the country. He loved listening to classic rock music, riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle alongside Arlena, and caring for their beloved dog, Maya, who he always considered part of the family. His yard was his pride and joy; he took immense satisfaction in keeping it immaculate and beautiful. Michael’s love for nature and his hardworking spirit left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.
Michael’s memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends, who will miss his warm presence, laughter, and love.
