Michael Dean Glidewell

Mr. Michael Dean Glidewell, 65, formerly of Trenton, Missouri went to his heavenly home on Thursday morning, May 8, 2025. 

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Friday, May 16, 2025 at Resthaven Mortuary, Trenton, Missouri. Burial will be in Humphreys Cemetery, Humphreys, Missouri. 

Family visitation will be Friday from 1:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. at the mortuary. 

Memorials to Green Hills Animal Shelter and may be left with the mortuary. 

He was the son of Lowell Dean and Mary Larue Stoneking Glidewell born on May 4, 1960 at Wright Memorial Hospital, Trenton, Missouri. Mike graduated from Trenton High School in 1979 and then in 1983 he graduated from the University of Missouri in Columbia, Missouri with an Agriculture Degree. During his high school and college years he was employed by several farmers in the area. He was a member of Boy Scouts Troop 97. He earned the highest honor in Boy Scouts as an Eagle Scout and also became a member of Tribe of Mic-o-Say as “Little Bull Rake” and became a Tapper. He also enjoyed Boy Scout Adventures to Philmont Scout Ranch in New Mexico. Mike worked at Barnes Insurance Group for several years followed by several other occupations. His passion was his horses and living in the country. 

He was a member of the First Christian Church, Trenton, Missouri and was baptized on April 9, 1972. Mike was a devoted believer in Christ. He had many Bible Study Courses and found strength in his Faith. He was a mentor and an influence on several individuals. He never met a stranger and always willing to lend a helping hand. He was a kind hearted soul and curious to learn and explore. 

On June 27, 1987 he was married to Cheryl Allen at the Wesley United Methodist Church, Trenton, Missouri. 

His survivors include his parents Dean and Mary Glidewell, Jefferson City, Missouri; one sister Tawny Ward and husband Dale, Trenton, Missouri; one brother Jim Glidewell and wife Misty, Spickard, Missouri; five nephews Colby Epperson, Logan Epperson and wife Kortni, Jace Glidewell and wife Samantha, Owen Glidewell, Riley Glidewell and wife Shelby; one niece Kari Smith and husband Daniel; fifteen great nieces and nephews; three step- children Tiffany Martin and husband Jeff, Arianne Jones and husband Nick, Andrew Rosenstangle; five step- grandchildren Caleb Cagle and wife Shelby, Hallie, Kaison, Lehton, Colton; one step-great grandchild Raelynn Cagle; one uncle Ron Glidewell and one aunt Lois Callahan. 

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, one step-grandchild Zoey and several aunts and uncles.
