Mrs. Melissa (Missy) Jane Knapp, 61, a Trenton, Missouri resident died at 7:20 am, Tuesday, October 20, 2020 at her home.
Memorial Services will be held 11:00 am, Monday, October 26, 2020 at Resthaven Mortuary in Trenton Missouri. Family visitation will be from 10:00 am - 11:00 am Monday. Her body was cremated. Memorial contributions for the Liberty Hospital Foundation, Tree House, where Missy stayed during her cancer treatments, can be left at or mailed to the mortuary.
Missy was born September 23, 1959 in Kirksville, Missouri, the daughter of Glen Emery and Charlotte Colleen Gates Allen. She graduated from Trenton High School. On August 1, 1980 she was married to her high school sweet heart Keith A. Knapp in Trenton.
Missy was a talented embroiderer, who made countless tea towels for friends and family. She was the keeper of snacks and candy for her three grandchildren that she loved to read books to. She was known for having a fun and sarcastic sense of humor, always leaving little notes and jokes around the house, or mailing them to loved ones with interesting stamps.
Her survivors include her husband Keith of the home, one daughter Ellen Harkins and husband Kyle of Roeland Park, Kansas, one son Wes Knapp and wife Danielle of Trenton, three grandchildren, Seth and Ava Knapp, of Trenton and Benjamin Harkins of Roeland Park, Kansas, one sister Julie McNerney and husband Dan of Breckenridge, Colorado, two brothers Steve Allen and wife Peggy of Kirksville, Missouri, Jim Allen of Trenton, and her mother-in-law, Mary Lee Knapp of Trenton, along with several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
