Manuel Eugene “Gene” Urick, a 79 year old Jamesport resident, passed away at 2:17 p.m., Tuesday, September 8, 2020 at St. Luke’s Northland Hospital in Kansas City from complications of Covid 19.
He is to be cremated under the direction of Slater Neal Funeral Home of Trenton. Memorial services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Saturday, October 24, 2020 at Resthaven Mortuary or Trenton. A reception will follow at the Trenton Elk's Lodge. Memorial donations may be made to the Elk’s Lodge, and left with or mailed to the funeral home.
Gene Urick was born September 24, 1940 in Davies County to Manuel and Dorothy Helen (Grice) Urick in Daviess, County. He graduated from Jamesport High School and farmed most of his life in Daviess and Grundy County. On May 30, 1986 he was united in marriage to Marsha Ann Hand in Gallatin, MO. Gene was a member of the Elk’s Lodge 801 in Trenton for over 50 years and held many offices locally, state wide, and was District Deputy to the Grand Exalted Ruler nationally with the organization.
Surviving relatives include his wife Marsha of the home, son Daniel Shawn Kidd and wife Christy of Columbia, MO, son Jerry Urick of Galt, sister Janet Vosburgh and husband Bob of FL, a special cousin Margaret Jean (Grice) Fisher and husband George of Norwany, IA, a very special granddaughter LaTasha Dawn Cunningham and her significant other Mitch Alley, grandsons Cole and Cash Kidd, and great grandsons Thomas Cunningham and Ayden Owen.
