Mr. Lynn Westcott, 88, a resident of Spickard, Missouri in the Half Rock Community passed away on Monday, September 2, 2024 at St. Lukes Hospital on the Plaza, Kansas City, Missouri surrounded by his family.
Mr. Westcott was born May 8, 1936 in Trenton, Missouri the son of Dallas Elmer and Hilda Lentz Westcott. He lived most of his life in the Trenton area, except for March 1956 – January 1960 when he served in the U.S. Navy as an airplane engine mechanic. He was a 1954 graduate of Trenton High School and spent his life as an over the road truck driver, farmer and he retired from Modine Manufacturing.
On August 30, 1997 he was married at the Tindall Christian Church to Carol Asher. He enjoyed trail riding, cutting horses, dancing, traveling, a good book, telling stories and most of all, spending time with his friends and family.
His survivors include his wife Carol of the home; his children Kelle Westcott (Rand Williams), Columbia, Missouri, Jeffrey Westcott (Kati), Chula, Missouri, Darrel Plumb (Susan), Trenton, Missouri, Janet Helmandollar (Scott),Blue Springs, Missouri, Julie Linville (Raymond), Kansas City, Missouri, Don Plumb, Lawrence, Kansas; Grandchildren Brooke Westcott, Braymer,Missouri, Courtney Westcott-Haakonstad, Chula,Missouri, Rebecca Shutterly, Trenton, Missouri, Zach Plumb Point Mugu, California, Bethany Linville, Kansas City, Missouri, Jordan Kruep, Wellsville, Kansas, Kristin Kruep, Lincoln, Missouri, Kyle Kruep, Paola, Kansas, Katie Plumb, Lawrence, Kansas, Carly Helmandollar, Lees Summit, Missouri; great grandchildren Graham Stonger, Braymer, Missouri, Melodie Shutterly, Trenton, Missouri, Kaiden, Ellie and Cameron Johnson, Lincoln, Missouri, Cale & Ryder Plumb, Point Mugu, California; two great great granddaughters Davina and Delilah; two sister-in-laws Barbara Westcott, Trenton, Missouri, Donna Asher Chillicothe, Missouri; one brother-in-law Gary Asher, Chillicothe, Missouri; one nephew Danny Westcott; three great nieces Jessie Ehrsam, Ali Westcott, Sara Westcott, and one great nephew Dakota Westcott.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Ray Westcott, nephew David Westcott and sister-in-law Beverly Warner.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, September 7, 2024 at the South Evans Christian Church Northeast of Trenton, Missouri. Burial will be in South Evans Cemetery.
Family visitation will be held Friday, September 6, 2024 from 6:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at Slater-Neal Funeral Home, Trenton, Missouri.
Memorials to either Wounded Warrior Project or South Evans Cemetery and they may be left with the funeral home.
