Linda Sharron (Betz) Gomez

Linda Gomez a 77 year old Trenton resident, passed away at 4:45 p.m., Wednesday, December 3, 2025 at her residence where she was under hospice care. 

Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, December 9, 2025 at Slater Neal Funeral Home of Trenton.  Burial will follow in South Evans Cemetery North of Trenton.  A visitation is scheduled from 6 until 7 Monday evening at the funeral home.  Memorial donations are suggested to Green Hills Animal Shelter and may be left with or mailed to the funeral home.

Linda Sharron Gomez was born August 8, 1948 to Marion Jesse Betz and Elva Mae Stephens

Betz.  She married James David Ellis in August 1964. One daughter was born before they divorced.  She worked at the Quick Chick as a cook while raising her daughter. She married Donald L. Brittain in 1969. Sadly, he died before their son was born. In April 1970 she married Johnny W. Johnson. He left her a widow in June of 2008. They farmed acreages in Grundy, Sullivan and Putnam counties while residing on their home farm at Laredo. They also raised registered Hampshire and Polish China pigs and Quarter Horses and Paints.  After moving to a smaller farm near Tindall they concentrated on raising and showing horses, then moved to Trenton after retiring from horses. Linda returned to school after her children were grown, earning her GED, then a degree in secretarial skills from Trenton Junior College.  She passed her realtor test and worked as a real estate agent for a short period of time. She then managed the KFC and later the BP in Trenton.  In 2009 Linda met the true love of her life, Robert Gomez. They married in August 2009 and enjoyed life together for the short time that they had as a couple. They traveled many miles to gamble at casinos and enjoy the other attractions in the towns they visited.  After Bob could no longer travel, Linda still enjoyed playing slots on her computer, as well as Hearts.  Linda was a talented artist with pen, pencil, watercolor, oils or her camera. She was also a skilled pool player. She was fun loving with a sharp wit.

Linda is survived by her daughter, Christi Green (John), son, Brad Johnson (Becky), grandchildren; Kate Pliska (Danny), Vince Green (Becca), Samantha Johnson, Jessica Ferguson (Scott), Micah Werner (Maribeth), and Lucus Werner, great grandchildren; Cooper Green, Terrigan McAfee, Brylee McAfee, Hayden Green, Saylor Green, Braylynn Johnson, and Hazley Smith, Rebecca Ferguson, Emma Ferguson, and Ruger Ferguson and her cherished 4 legged companion, Jimmy Joe.
