Larry Redmond Obituary

Larry A. Redmond, 85, a resident of Trenton, Missouri died peacefully at 12:45 P.M., Sunday, November 30, 2025 in the comfort of his home surrounded by his family.

Memorial services will be Saturday, December 6, 2025 at 3:00 P.M. at the First Assembly of God Church in Trenton, Missouri. Family visitation will be 2:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M at the same location.

It was very important to Larry that “ALL” nations be reached with the gospel of Jesus Christ. Memorials in his honor will be sent to The Assembly of God World Missions Department to further impact the world. Memorials may be sent to or left at Slater-Neal Funeral Home or First Assembly of God both of Trenton, Missouri.

Larry was born September 3, 1940 in Greeley, Colorado the son of Revs. William Alfred and Elsie Iris Luse Redmond. Larry joined the U.S. Air Force and was stationed at Stead Air Force Base in Reno Nevada. During a visit home, his parents introduced him to a young lady who was attending their church.

That introduction was the start of a love story that lasted 65 wonderful years!

On September 3, 1965, on his 25th birthday, he married Esther Alida Knudsen in Bozeman, Montana officiated by his father.

Larry went on to college and earned his Theology Degree that enabled Larry to serve in ministry under his fathers leadership for a short time before joining the U.S. Forest Service. He was transferred to Roseburg, Oregon where a co-worker talked him into joining the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers where he had a successful career, retiring in 2009. While employed there he was stationed in KKMC, Saudi Arabia; Rapid City, South Dakota; Glasgow, Montana and retiring in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Larry was known for his sense of humor and jokes. He was witty and had some “Larry-isms” like; If something worked well he’d say,“That’s slicker than snot on a glass doorknob”. “I’m going to get some cat fur to make some kitten britches” if asked where he was going. “It will feel better when it quits hurting” and when asked why he didn’t buy his wife a Mother’s Day gift he said, “Well, she’s not my mom!”

Larry never met a stranger and he remembered everyone’s name. He made people feel loved and valued. He loved his children, his grandchildren and was thrilled to be a great- grandpa but he especially loved his wife who tirelessly cared for him until he took his last breath. Their love is an example of true love, yes, messy sometimes but always faithful, constant and never wavering!

His survivors include his wife Esther of Trenton, Missouri; his 3 children, 9 grandchildren and 3 great- grandchildren. Son, Larry Allen and Robyn Redmond and granddaughters Jessica and

Rebekah all of Phoenix, Arizona. Daughter, Kristi and Del Weyer of Trenton, Missouri. Grandchildren; Lauren and Nathaniel Udovich, 3 great-grandchildren Aurora, Holden and Aloisa all of Trenton, Missouri, Courtney Weyer of Trenton, Missouri. Austin and Leah Weyer of San Diego, California and Aiden Weyer and girl friend Kaegen Croy of Trenton, Missouri. Daughter, Kendra and Andy Partee of Colorado Springs, Colorado; grandchildren Halle McCullough of Hangzhou, China, Tre McCullough and Zevian Partee of Colorado Springs, Colorado.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister Elsie Stubbs, brother-in-law Raymond Stubbs and nieces Leisha Stubbs and Starlene Johns.
