Larry Persell, a 71 year old Spickard, MO resident, passed away at 2:52 a.m., Wednesday, September 1, 2021 at his residence after a short battle with cancer.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:30 p.m., Sunday, September 5, 2021 at the Princeton First Baptist Church in Princeton, MO. Burial will follow in Salem Cemetery near Mill Grove. A visitation is scheduled from 4:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. Saturday at Resthaven Mortuary of Trenton. Memorial contributions are suggested to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and may be left with or mailed to the funeral home.
Larry Wayne Persell was born on August 1, 1950 in Trenton, MO to Cecil and Marilyn (Girdner) Persell. He was a graduate of Princeton High School. On September 28, 1969 he was united in marriage to Dianna Osborn in Spickard, MO. Together they share countless memories of time spent outdoors with family and friends.
Larry had a deep passion for hunting and fishing. His determination and optimistic character led to many success stories which he loved to share with all he knew.
He worked for Trenton Foods for 43 ½ years and was a member of the Princeton First Baptist Church.
Surviving relatives include his wife Dianna of the home, mother Marilyn Schooler and husband Ed of Princeton, son Shane Persell and his wife Anna of Trenton, daughter Shelly Hanson and husband Danny of Princeton, MO, brother Bruce Persell and his wife Janice of Spickard, grandchildren Hannah and Kaci Persell, Logan and Emily Hanson, and Erica and husband Colton Miller, and great grandchildren Evelyn and Ruby Miller. He was preceded in death by his father.
