Kenneth Everett McKay
Kenneth Everett McKay of Trenton, Missouri died on April 23, 2025. He was born to the late Kenneth Earl McKay and Beulah Rhoades McKay on April 6, 1940. On June 29, 1958, he was married to his childhood sweetheart Earnestine Mae Lovell. They lived and farmed in the Fairview Community before moving to Trenton in 1981.
Kenneth attended No Creek School prior to graduating from Galt High School (Class of 1957). Known as Grandpa Pete, he was a very talented and loving man, always taking time to share with others. Kenneth had a reputation of being a master carpenter. He was also known by many as he sheared sheep for farmers in the area. Kenneth worked at Trenton Foods for three years. He was then hired at Modine Manufacturing, being the second person hired and having badge number 101. He worked there for seven years before joining Guy Keuhn in construction. He built many houses in the community over the years.
Kenneth worked hard but also took time for many hobbies, which included coon hunting with friends in the community. He and Teenie went many places square dancing with the Peppy Promenaders. He enjoyed going to auctions and finding treasures, which he would bring home to his workshop and refinish.
Passing before him were his parents, Earl and Beulah McKay, his in-laws Chester and Tracy Lovell, and his daughter Judith Gail McKay Stottlemyre.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife Teenie, son Steve (Cathy) McKay, daughter Jennifer Hale, son-in-law Danny Stottlemyre; grandchildren Lesley (James) Arnold, Kinnison McKay, Aaron (Jani) Hale, Ashley (Eric) Bridger, Cody Stottlemyre and April (Aaron) Stottlemyre; great-grandchildren Audrey, Everett, Nora, Anna, Emma, Waylon, Amelia, Emmitt, Kenly, Troy, Wes, Amy, Leslie, Nate, Ryan, Andi; and his sister Linda Collins and her husband, Ron of Bolivar, Missouri
Kenneth loved being at home and was able to spend his last days there with his family. The body will be cremated under the direction of Resthaven Mortuary. The family will receive friends May 17 and 18 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the family home 2513 Meadowlark Lane. Please stop by for a visit.
