Joyce Ann Tuttle, an 81 year old Trenton resident passed away at 5:52 pm Thursday, March 7th while undergoing heart surgery. Memorial services are scheduled at 10:00 am Tuesday, March 12th at Resthaven Mortuary of Trenton. Memorial donations are suggested to the Green Hills Animal Shelter, and may be left or mailed to the funeral home.
Joyce was born on November 13, 1942 the daughter of Lowell Ervin and Juanita Mouriece (Newkirk) McAtee. She was a 1960 graduate of Penney High School in Hamilton MO. On October 27 1972, she was united in marriage to Melvin Roy Tuttle in Trenton, who survives of the home. Joyce worked as the Grundy County Public Administrator for 4 terms and Hoffman and Reed for 25 years. She was a member of the Amazing Grace Baptist Church.
Joyce’s greatest passions were her family and quilting. She combined these passions by having made enough quilts throughout the years to gift a quilt to each of her children, grandchildren, and most of her great grandchildren. In her spare time she enjoyed bird watching, camping, going to Branson, hallmark movies and their dog, Shiloh.
Surviving relatives include her husband Melvin of the home, daughters Deleta Foster (Ronnie), Sarah DeVorss (Joe), son Quinn Allen, all of Trenton, and Gary Tuttle (Krystal) of California MO, sisters Devona Gilgour of Hamilton, MO, and Connie McCloud (Melvin) of Trenton. 15 grandchildren; Vanessa Kelly (Chad), Hillary Allen, Elizabeth Dollins, Dustin Foster (Danielle), Emily Cox (Kyle), Joseph DeVorss (Megan), Paige Orndorff (Michael), Wynne DeVorss, Amber Calivere, Amanda Bears (Ben), Aaron Tuttle, Samuel Tuttle, Tristen Tuttle, Trinity Mehmert, Lillian Wolfe, and 24 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Ronald and Darrell McAtee, and granddaughter Charly DeVorss.
