Joyce Delaine (Atkinson) Altes

Mrs. Joyce Delaine Altes 70, a resident of Trenton, MO. died at 1:50 A.M., Wednesday, November 11, 2020 at Livingston Manor, Chillicothe, MO.

Memorial services will be held Friday, December 11, 2020 at 11:00 A.M. at Resthaven Mortuary, Trenton. Inurnment will be in Resthaven Memorial Gardens north of Trenton.

Family visitation will be held Friday, Dec. 11, 2020 from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. at the mortuary.  

Mrs. Altes was born August 25, 1950 in Boone, Iowa the daughter of Paul and Ruth Eckley Atkinson. She graduated from Maxwell, Iowa High School in 1969. She had been employed as physical therapy assistant at Wright Memorial Hospital then at Eastview Manor both in Trenton. She was a licensed daycare provider. She and her husband Don then became foster parents and together they raised foster children for over 27 years. She knew no stranger, was a friend to everyone and will be truly missed.

On June 26, 1970 she was married to Donald  (Don) Paul Altes at Maxwell, Iowa. They recently celebrated 50 years of marriage. 

Her survivors include her husband Don of the home. Four daughters Tonia Daly and husband Jason, Chillicothe, MO.; Ranee Little and husband Adam, Waverly, Iowa; Brandi Cecil and husband Daniel, Waverly, Iowa; LaTosha Rains and husband Brad, Kansas City, MO. One son Christopher Altes and wife Ange, Waverly, Iowa. Thirteen grandchildren Taylor Croy and husband Kyle, Abbey Daly, Katie Little, Kara Little, Kaitlyn Owen, Emily Owen, Adalyn Altes, Kenzie Altes, Leah Altes, Aubrey Altes, Ireland Cecil, Aysia Rains, and Dante Rains. One great grandson Litton Croy, one brother Keith Charlet, of Oklahoma, and many others whose lives she touched as a foster mother. 

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, parents and one brother Roger Charlet.
