Mr. Johnny Mac Bowers, 78, a resident of Trenton, Missouri died at 2:08 A.M., Tuesday, March 25, 2025 at his residence.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 29, 2025 at 2:00 P.M. at Slater-Neal Funeral Home, Trenton, Missouri. His body will be cremated after the service.
Family visitation will be held Saturday from 1:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
Memorials to either the American Diabetes Asso. or the Alzheimer’s Asso. and maybe left with the funeral home.
Mr. Bowers was born January 16, 1947 at Trenton, Missouri the son of Eugene O’Neil Russell and Mildred Maxine McClaskey. He was veteran of the Vietnam Era serving in the U.S. Army. He retired as Jail Administrator from the Grundy County Sheriff Department.
On December 5, 1983 he was married to Ellen Hamilton at Trenton, Missouri.
His survivors include his wife Ellen of the home, six children Richard Burnfin and wife Stephanie, Chillicothe, Missouri, Patricia Stowers and husband Jeff, Trenton, Missouri, Cynthia Bowers, Trenton, Missouri, Dawn Burnfin, Chisholm, Minnesota, Jamie Burnfin, Trenton, Missouri, Heather Souders and husband James, Centerville,Iowa; two sisters Patty Holt, Urbandale, Iowa, Debbie Rice, Norwalk, Iowa; twenty grandchildren Jayna Stowers, Jon Stowers and Ashley, Charity Ward, Christy Wiegand, Desmond Huff, Alex Burnfin, Emily Graves and Christian, Benjamin Elliott, Wesley Elliott, Samuel Suhonrn, Erin Wattenbarger, Isaac Wattenbarger, Nicholas Wattenbarger, Sue Ellen McPherson, Leon McPherson, Louise McPherson, Jonathan Burnfin, Hannah Burnfin, Dakota Bowers, Lillyaunna Bowers, Destini Souders and several great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one son Gary Dewayne Bowers, and one sister Jean Ann Probst.
