Jesse Don Richmond

Jesse D. Richmond, III, 63 of Spickard, MO went to be with the lord at 1:57 A.M. on Thursday, December 31, 2020 at his home.

Jesse was born on December 9, 1957 to Jesse Edward and Brenda (Ross) Richmond Jr. in Fort Wayne, IN. On September 25, 1976 he was united in marriage to Melody Berfield in Manito, IL. Jesse graduated in 1977 from Forman High School in Manito, IL. After graduating Jesse went to work as a groundman and truck driver and was a member of INTER Electrical Union Local 153. In the early 1980s he joined the army for a short period. After moving his family to the Kansas City area, he joined the Excelsior Springs Fire Department as a Fireman and First Responder. He studied at Mizzou for his EMT License. Later he moved his family to Spickard, Missouri where he worked for the Grundy County Road and Bridge Department until he retired in 2016. He was the former mayor of the City of Spickard for many years. He was also a former member of Spickard Special Road District and a current member of the Spickard R-2 School District Board of Directors until his passing. Jesse was an EMT/Firefighter for the Spickard Volunteer Fire and Rescue. He was also a member, Decan and bus driver of Coon Creek Baptist Church in Trenton, Mo. After his wife’s passing in October of 2016, Jesse lived with his grandson Austin in Spickard, MO where he later married Judi Hein on May 26, 2018. Jesse was an avid Kansas City Chiefs fan. He loved being a fireman and enjoyed helping people. Jesse was also a father and grandfather figure to many. He loved to cook, visit new places to eat and giving people a hard time joking around. Jesse was an Organ Donor. Most importantly Jesse loved his family and his dog Moose. 

He was preceded in death by his grandparents and his oldest grandson Austin Richmond

His survivors include his wife Judi of the home. Daughter Rhiannon(Mike) Hieronymus, Excelsior Springs, MO, Son Jesse D. Richmond, IV. His parents Jesse and Brenda Richmond, Jr., Yuma, AZ. Step-Daughter Libby(Matt) Hall Trenton, MO Step-Son Jeromy (Jessica Summers) Romesburg Lathrop, MO. Sisters Jonine (Mike) Jaycox, Spickard, MO,  Jackie (Ross) Johnson Ozarks, MO, and Julie (Mike Hollenbeck) Burgard, Table Grove, IL. 8 grandchildren Ashley, Nathaniel, Madison, Shelby, Alyssa, Jayden, Lily, and Brooklynn 5 Nieces, 3 Nephews and many friends             

In lieu of flowers the family is requesting donations to be made to Judi Richmond to help with final expenses.

His body was cremated under the direction of Slater-Neal Funeral Home, Trenton, Missouri. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
