James "Jim" Robert Brodie

Jim Brodie, an 89 year old Trenton, MO resident of Trenton, passed away at 2:07 a.m., Sunday, June 7, 2026 at Sunnyview Nursing Home where he was under hospice care.

He is to be cremated with inurnment at a later date in Resthaven Memorial Gardens of Trenton.

James Robert Brodie was born August 31, 1936 in Trenton to Robert and Louise (Rogers) Brodie.  He graduated from Trenton High School. He attended one year of college and then later enlisted in the United States Army.  On August 22, 1958 he was united in marriage to Joann Hamilton from Modena, MO.  Jim worked at Smith’s Clothing as well as Wright Memorial Hospital and then as a meter reader for Trenton Municipal Utilities.  He was involved in starting up the original Grundy County Ambulance and was active with the Grundy County museum as well as the Grundy County Library.

Surviving relatives include his wife Joann of the home, a brother Tom Brodie of Greeley CO, a sister-in-law Annette Brodie of Trenton and nieces and nephews.  Those preceding him in death include his parents, a sister Barbara Jean Brodie and a brother David Lee Brodie.
