Helen Blackburn, a 75 year old Charles City, IA resident, passed away at 12:10 p.m., Thursday, October 2, 2025 while under hospice care.
She was cremated under the direction of Slater Neal Funeral Home of Trenton.
Helen Yvonne Blackburn was born August 4, 1950 in Fairfax, MO, to Ray Monroe and Helen Margaret (Morrison) Whitham. She worked as a C.N.A. in nursing homes. On September 18, 1986 she was united in marriage to Raymond Alfred Blackburn. He died on the same day as Helen October 2, in the year 2006. Helen was all about spending time with family and loved to sit outside enjoying nature with family and friends.
Surviving relatives include her sons Eddie Stevens and wife Christa, and Chad Stevens of Rockford, IA, daughter Megan Mason and husband Shane Barnett of Charles City, IA, brothers Kenneth Morrison of Clinton, MO, Ronnie Whitham and wife Donna of Smithfield, MO, Ricky Whitham and wife Karen of Excelsior Springs, MO, and Harold Whitham of Topeka, KS, grandchildren; Zach Stevens and wife Brook, Dalton Stevens and wife Brenda, Samantha Stevens and husband Brandon Farr, Kaylei Stevens, Kade Stevens Kinslei Stevens, Ethan Blackburn, and Kael, and great grandchildren; Carter, JayDean, Charlea, Lilian, Kenneth, Brysen, Brett, John Ray, Andie, and Addison.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Raymond and brothers, Keith, Larry and Randy Whitham.
