Hazel Hobbs, an 89 year old Trenton resident, passed away at 6:40 p.m., Thursday, June 19, 2025 at her residence with her granddaughter LaTasha by her side while she was under hospice care.
Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 25, 2025 at Resthaven Mortuary of Trenton. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery in Trenton. A visitation is scheduled from 10 until service time Wednesday. Open viewing will be from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Hazel Virginia Hobbs was born December 30, 1935 in Trenton to Earl Willis and Florence (Shelton) Harvey. On October 1, 1968 she was united in marriage to Cecil Hobbs in Trenton. He preceded her in death April 21, 2010. Hazel worked at Trenton Foods for many years as well as helping Cecil run Hobbs Salvage. She was a member of Honey Creek Chapel and was known for her green thumb.
Surviving relatives include her step son John Hobbs, grandchildren Dawn Thompson, LaTasha Cunningham (Matt Moser) Dakota Thompson, Jonathon Hobbs, and Jaimie Hobbs, great grandchildren Ayden Owen and Thomas Cunningham, and multiple step great grandchildren.
Those preceding her in death include her parents, husband, children Julie Thompson, Robbie Jackson, and Randy Jackson, sisters Maxine Brown and Mary Harvey and brother Jerry Harvey
