Duane Harding, a 62 year old Trenton resident, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by family and friends at 9:35 a.m., Sunday, August 31st, 2025. He had been under the care of hospice.
Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Saturday, September 6, 2025 at Slater Neal Funeral Home in Trenton. Burial will follow in Edinburg Cemetery. A visitation is scheduled from 6 to 7 Friday evening at the funeral home. Memorial donations are suggested to the funeral home for expenses and may be left with or mailed to the funeral home.
Duane Earnest Harding was born December 13, 1962 in St. Joseph, MO to Raymond Lloyd and Betty June (Kincaid) Harding. Duane was an honest, hardworking man but was known to be stubborn and ornery from time to time. On December 9th, 1981 he married the love of his life Debbie Gott. They were separated on May 3rd, 2014 by Debbie’s death. He was a good husband and father even to children that were not his own. He impacted many people.
Duane later married Rhonda Tuggle for a few years but later separated but they have remained good friends.
Duane lived his life for his kids, grandkids, and the rest of his family. Duane was not an emotional man but he had a way that all of his friends and family knew he loved them. He was proud to live the last couple years clean and getting closer to God, he even got baptized. He spent his last couple months spending time with his kids, grandkids, brothers, friends and nieces and nephews still being ornery from time to time.
He is survived by his daughter, Michelle and partner Mel of Trenton, his son James and wife Liz of Trenton, brothers Earl Harding and wife Sonya of Warsaw, Mo, and Raymond Harding and wife Sandy of Trenton, sister Beulah Harding of Trenton, Wife and friend Rhonda Harding of Ridgeway, MO, grandsons, Austin, Alex and Beau Harding and Kaleb Shipley, step daughters, Hayley Tuggle of Kansas City, MO and Kelli Corrigan and partner Quinten of Ridgway, MO, step-granddaughters Josie, Jaelynn, Madeline, Amelia, and Alaina, and many nieces and nephews, also a special friend Brian Dittberner of Trenton.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Debbie, brother Kelly Harding, a grandson Luke Lundy, and in-laws George and Bonnie Gott.
