Doug Eller Obituary

On Monday, January 9th, 2023 John Douglas Eller laid his crops by after 54 years, finishing his work on earth and entering into the presence of his Saviour.

Doug was born on March 25, 1968 in Medina, OH the son of John and Barbara Repp Eller. He grew up in Burbank, OH and graduated from Norwayne High School in Creston, OH.

On August 12, 1989 Doug married the love of his life Rebecca Jean Ream in Lafayette, OH who he remained faithfully devoted to for the rest of his life.  Their marriage was blessed with 4 wonderful children.

Doug was an excellent mechanic who started at the Honda shop in Wooster, OH and later J&C Snowmobiles in Sullivan, OH where he developed a love for snowmobiles which he continued to enjoy throughout the years.  After realizing he “didn’t want to turn a wrench for the rest of his life” he returned back to farming, a passion he had developed from a young age by being his dads side kick.  To pursue a bigger dream, Doug sold his farm in Ohio in 1997 and moved his family west to a larger farm in Harris, Missouri, here he operated his own business called OUTBACK ATV for many years. He sought to bring God glory with all he was blessed with.

In June of 1988, on a gravel road beside his pickup truck, his soul was prepared for the day of his death when he placed his faith in Christ as his own personal Saviour.  Having gotten his salvation in the Lord settled, he remained a faithful servant of God in his everyday life, taking the opportunities to share his faith with others he met.  Doug was a charter member of Liberty Baptist Church in Trenton, Missouri; serving as Deacon, Sunday School Teacher, Song Leader, Youth Leader and many other ministry opportunities.

Until they meet again in Heaven, his absence from this earth leaves a huge hole to those who love and survive him.  His survivors include his wife Rebecca of the home; two daughters Ruby Francis (Ty) of Harris; Renea Hill (Chandler) of Milan; two sons Samuel Eller (Ashlin) of Laredo; Kenneth Eller (Heather) of Humphreys; his father John Eller of Trenton; one brother Robert Eller (Kelly) of Galt, and five grandchildren Alice Hill, Opal Hill, Violet Ruth Hill, Aubrey Eller, Kolter Eller and more on the way.

He was preceded in death by his mother.

Visitation will be held Friday, January 13, 2023 from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Liberty Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Saturday, January 14, 2023 at Liberty Baptist Church, Trenton, Missouri. Burial will be in the Eller Cemetery south of Harris, Missouri.

Memorials may be made to either Eller Cemetery or Liberty Baptist Church and may be left with the Slater-Neal Funeral Home, Trenton, Missouri.
