Obituary

Dorthy (Dottie) M. (Tyler) Reames, 99, of Adel, Iowa passed away April 16, 2022 of congestive heart failure.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Thursday, April 21, 2022 at Slater Neal Funeral Home in Trenton.  A visitation is scheduled from 1:00p.m. - 2:00 p.m. Thursday at Slater Neal Funeral Home in Trenton.  Burial will follow in the Trenton Cemetery of Trenton.

Dorthy was born to Charles M. Tyler and Daisy C. (Fox) Tyler on January 12, 1923 in Des Moines, Iowa.

On July 5, 1939 she was married to Cedric Allen Reames. They had three sons; Cedric Jr. (Ted), Tim & Sean. Ced & Dottie were married 56 years, residing in Des Moines until 1992 when they moved to Mercer,Missouri. Dottie was a devoted wife and mother, and a nanny to several children in the Des Moines area. She found strength and comfort in the bible and reading the scriptures. She enjoyed listening to her hymns and found peace in them.

Dorthy is survived by ten grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by parents, nine brothers and sisters; her husband Cedric Reames, Sr.; her sons Cedric Jr. (Ted), Tim & Sean Reames Sr.; grandsons Sean Jr. and Curtis Reames; granddaughter Hannah (Reames) Miher; great grandson Jacob Reames.
