Dorthy R. (Fitzgearlds) Adkins

Mrs. Dorthy R. Adkins, 94, a resident of Trenton, Missouri died at 7:24 P.M., Sunday, March 3, 2024 at Hedrick Medical Center, Chillicothe, Missouri.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Friday, March 8, 2024 at Resthaven Mortuary, Trenton, Missouri. Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Trenton, Missouri.

Family visitation will be held Friday from 1:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. at the mortuary.

Memorials to either Wesley United Methodist Church or American Cancer Society may be left with the mortuary.

Mrs. Adkins was born September 8, 1929 in Martinsville, Missouri the daughter of Roy Freemon Fitzgearlds and Nellie May Athay Fitzgearlds. For several years she was employed by Smith Clothing of Trenton.

She was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church, Trenton.

On June 4, 1949 she was married to Royce Dean Adkins in Harrison County, Missouri. He preceded her in death on August 8, 1991.

Her survivors include one daughter Pam Robertson and husband Howard, Chillicothe, Missouri; two sons Doug Adkins and wife Lori, Lee’s Summit, Missouri, Bob Adkins and wife Terri, Hallsville, Missouri; seven grandchildren; nine great grandchildren and one step-brother Bobbie Beeks, Liberty, Missouri.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two step-sisters Grace Bartlett and Clara Belle Gentry.
