Donald Lee Stephens, an 84 year old Spickard resident, passed away at 9:00 a.m., Sunday, November 2, 2025 at his residence where he was under hospice care.
A graveside with inurnment is scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Friday, November 7, 2025 at Resthaven Memorial Gardens of Trenton.
Memorials to Green Hills Animal Shelter and may be left with the mortuary.
Donald Lee Stephens was born March 11, 1941 in Grundy County, MO to Wendell and Dorothy Louise (Berry) Stephens. He graduated from Spickard High school and other than a year and a half in Harris he resided in Spickard. On November 15, 1974 he was united in marriage to Peggy Hostetter in Princeton, MO. She preceded him in death March 26, 2025. Donald worked at Trenton Foods from 1959 until retiring in 2004. He was a member of the Spickard Fire Department for 25 years and was also a E.M.T.
Surviving relatives include his son Chris (Lisa) Stephens of Princeton, MO, sisters Peggy JoAnn Jenkins of Sedalia, Judy Ann Munday of Lenexa, KS, and Delores Herring, Trenton, Mo. brothers Olen J. Stephens and wife Gloria of Trenton, and Larry Ray “Oz” Stephens of Spickard, grandchildren Payge Nelson and husband Riley, Dalton Stephens and great granddaughter Ember Nelson, sister-in-law Bonnie Stephens and several nieces and nephews.
Those preceding his in death include his parents, wife Peggy, brother, Earl Dean Stephens, and a half-brother Raylee Stephens.
