Dean Smith

Dean Smith, an 84 year old Trenton, MO resident, passed away at 5:55 p.m., Friday, March 22, 2024 at Sunnyview Nursing Home in Trenton.

Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Friday, March 29, 2024, at Resthaven Mortuary of Trenton.  Burial will follow in Salem Cemetery near Galt.  A visitation is scheduled from 6 until 7 p.m., Thursday at the Resthaven Mortuary.

Earl Dean Smith was born July 26, 1939, in Princeton, MO to Thomas and Ruby Ellen (Burress) Smith.  He was a diesel mechanic and worked for many individuals and companies around North Missouri.

Surviving relatives include his daughter Gayla Smith Campbell and husband John of Maryville, MO, stepdaughter Stormy Newton of Trenton, sisters Shirley Smith of Kansas, and Lorene Stark of Gallatin, MO, brother Lester Smith of St. Louis, MO, grandchildren Hylee Thomas, Michael Thomas, John Lee Campbell Jr., Fairann Campbell, Krystal Roberts, Jeff Newton, Josh Newton and Jacob Newton, 13 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter Jody Smith Thomas, and brothers Donald, Johnny, Tom and Walter Smith
