Colleen (Cunningham) Hobbs

Colleen Hobbs, a 97 year old Independence, MO resident, passed away at 8:33 a.m., Sunday, November 23, 2025, where she was under hospice care.

Freeda Colleen Hobbs was born December 5, 1927 to Allen and Dessie (Persell) Cunningham in Spickard, MO.  She graduated from Princeton High School.  On March 12, 1945 she was united in marriage to Jack W. Hobbs in Kansas City, KS, prior to his being shipped off to war.  Colleen worked as a supervisor in a credit union in Kansas City.

Surviving relatives include her son Terry Hobbs and wife Linda of Independence, grandson Michael B Hobbs and wife Julie, of Holden, MO, and great grandchildren Paige and Brady, one sister-in-law Gloria Koon, Wichita, Kansas and several nieces and nephews. 

Those preceding her in death include her parents, husband a son Larry J. Hobbs, three brothers, and three sisters.

There will be a private interment at Half Rock Cemetery under the direction of Slater Neal Funeral Home.
