Charlene (Gibson) Thompson

Charlene Thompson, a 75 year old Parkville, MO resident, passed away at 11:24 a.m., Thursday, January 11, 2024, at St. Luke’s North in Kansas City.

Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, January 17, 2024 at Resthaven Mortuary of Trenton.  Burial will follow in Newtown Cemetery.  Memorial donations are suggested to the Newtown Cemetery and may be left with or mailed to the funeral home.

Dorothy Charlene Thompson was born February 4, 1948 in Lucerne, MO to Charles and Dorothy (Doolin) Gibson.  She graduated from Newtown Harris High School.  On June 10, 1966 she was united in marriage to Robert “Bob” Thompson in Kansas City, MO.  Charlene was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching all sports.  She was a member of Parkhill Christian Church in Platte Woods, MO.

Surviving relatives include her husband of the home, sons Martin L. Thompson and wife Stacy of Holt, MO and Brandon C. Thompson and wife Ashley of San Obispo, CA, sister Judy Robinson of Pasco, WA, brother Jimmy Gibson and wife Alvera of Lucerne, MO, and five grandchildren Bailey, Landry, Noah, Graham, and Olivia.  She was preceded in death by her parents, and a brother Jerry Gibson.
