Catherine (Cabarga) Howard

Howard, Catherine (Cabarga) "Cathy"

Born April 21, 1937 in Bishop, California and passed away peacefully March 7, 2025 at Sunnyview Nursing Home in Trenton, MO.

Catherine was the oldest of three daughters born to Basque Sheepherders, Emilio and Louise Cabarga. The family moved to the eastside of Lancaster in the early 1950's, where they had a small alfalfa ranch and raised sheep. Catherine graduated from A.V. High School in 1955. She worked for over 30 years at Sav-On Drug, where she enjoyed long time friendships with co-workers and customers. 

Catherine was preceded in death by her Father and Mother, Emilio and Louise Cabarga, sisters Millie Ulberg and Patsy Cabarga, son Ron Ramey, first husband Jack Ramey, and second husband Otis Howard. She is survived by her daughters Annette (Patrick) Donohue, Julie (Gailen) Kyle, son Maurice Howard; Grandchildren Ashley (Brad) Shelton, Kelsey (Tyler) Lyhane, Jake (Bri) Kyle, Katie (Jesse) Gold, Hanna and Violet Howard; Great Grandchildren Amelia Shelton; Josie Lyhane; Elly, Willa and Jack Kyle; Mollie, Lucy, and Brody Gold; and many cousins.

She is to be cremated under the direction of Slater Neal Funeral Home.  A private gathering will be held for Catherine at a later date.
