Bill Prince Obituary

Bill Prince, a 79-year-old Independence, MO resident, passed away at 9:25 p.m., Thursday, May 13, 2021, at CenterPoint Medical Center in Independence.

 

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Wednesday May 19, 2021 at Slater Neal Funeral Home of Trenton.  Burial will follow in the Trenton Cemetery.  A visitation is scheduled from 1:00 until service time Wednesday at the funeral home.  Open visitation will be from 11:00 until 6:00 Tuesday at the funeral home.  Memorial donations are suggested to the Crossroads Hospice and may be left with or mailed to the funeral home.

 

Billie Joe Prince was born January 29, 1942 in Nyota, AL to William James and Zonie (Reno) Prince.  On August 11, 1962 he was united I marriage to Grace Vanderpool at Edinburg, MO.  Bill worked at Kansas City Rug in Kansas City KS, and was able to learn the trade of mixing colors and dying of the carpets, cleaning them as well as the upholstery materials for various people within the company wide system cleaning business before moving onto then owning a portion of a partnership with some of his family within a Franchise of the ServiceMaster company in Raytown, MO where he was able to learn a more Indepth concept of the commercial side of the business conducive with cleaning up after fire and water damage plus restoration.  Later they founded Prince Cleaning Services.  Bill enjoyed spending time riding motorcycles, and giving his friends and nieces and nephews' rides, pitching horseshoes, loved people and spending time fellowshipping with other men and people of the church and his family especially in his younger years. During those years he enjoyed playing on the Church Softball League and Basketball games as well. Bill loved serving and working at the Church, cleaning plus serving on the board, always serving behind the scenes as well, driving the church bus and involved in men’s ministries.  In his spare time, he loved bowling, mowing and painting for people.  He also enjoyed helping people in need by giving them jobs and teaching Christian values and morals, while working right along beside side them.

 

Surviving relatives include: his wife Grace L. Prince. of the home, children are:  Michael L. Prince of Independence, MO., Keith R. Prince and wife Katie of Wellington, MO, Sandy K. Baker and husband

Randall W. of Chillicothe, MO, sisters Bobbie Bailey and husband Andy of Henderson, NV, Brenda Smith and husband Charles of Somerville, AL, brother Buddy Prince and wife Cindy of Belton, MO, sister-in-law Peggy Prince of Derby, FL, brother-in-law Don Campbell of Belton, MO, grandchildren, Jennifer Cobb and husband Willie, Tracy Norris and husband Josh, Sarah Moore, Christian Prince, Weston Baker and wife Amy, and Rebecca Smith and husband Randy Jr., eleven Great-Grandchildren: Kendra Morris and Husband John III, Myles Cobb, Brody Norris, Blair Norris, Mason Baker, Staton Baker, Gracelyn Moore, Gwendolyn Moore, Bryson White, Gavin Giles, and Randy Lee Trace Smith Jr., and several nieces and nephews.

 

Those preceding him in death include his parents, sister’s Bonnie Campbell and Betty Shadreck, and brothers Burl Prince and Bennie Prince.
