Benjamin “Ben” Stamper, an 82 year old Spickard, MO resident, passed away at 11:40 a.m., Wednesday, October 21, 2020 at St. Luke’s South in Overland Park, KS.
A graveside service is scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Sunday, October 25, 2020 at Resthaven Memorial Gardens of Trenton. Social distancing and masks, and lawn chairs are suggested. Open visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m., Saturday at Resthaven Mortuary of Trenton. Memorial donations are suggested in lieu of flowers to the Grundy County Breast Cancer Support Group.
Benjamin Miles Stamper was born in Spickard, MO, September 6, 1938, to Froman and Arlie (Nichols) Stamper. He married Henrietta Christowski, July 2, 1983. He worked for Modine Manufacturing for many years. Ben’s favorite pastime was spending time with family. He was very active in Relay for Life and could out walk them all. He also enjoyed playing cards with friends.
Surviving relatives include his son Howard Stamper of Liberty, MO, daughters Julie Prewitt and husband Marty of Bethany, MO, and Krista Place and husband Russell of Norwalk, IA, brothers, Jack Stamper and wife Marilyn, Gary Stamper and wife Debbie, sisters, Pauline Smith, Colene Davis, Linda Sweany, five grandchildren, Lilli Hamilton, and husband Conner, Paulina Stamper, Jessica Stonecypher and husband Jared, Leslie Merriman and husband Dan, and Russell Place and wife Kim, four great grandchildren Zeke Stonecypher, Tanner and Anna Merriman, and Payton Place, his former wife Glenda Stamper, and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Henrietta, brother Eugene Stamper, sisters Dixie Lewis and Betty Consolver and sister in law Pat Christowski
